Karin Arz is new Managing Director of the Industrieverband Kunststoffbahnen Europe (IVK)
Karin Arz will be the new managing director of the Industrieverband Kunststoffbahnen Europe e.V. based in Frankfurt. The association represents the joint interests of companies producing sheets made of plastic and caoutchouc for a multitude of applications. At the beginning of April she succeeds Sabine Dröge who will move on into another line of business.
- Two decades of association management
Graduate linguist Karin Arz is looking back on almost 20 years of managing industrial associations. In 1999, she took on the German association DUD, Kunststoff-Dach- und Dichtungsbahnen e.V., which is also represented in the IVK including its members. Since 2014, she is managing the European association ESWA (European Single ply Waterproofing Association) based in Brussels. Both IVK Europe and ESWA are members of the European umbrella organisation EuPC (European Plastics Converters), Brussels. Arz is considered well connected in the European association landscape for plastic products. In the future, she will not only be the contact person at IVK Europe e.V. for the area building and construction but also for the sector packaging and automotive.
- Sustainability and competitiveness are important
Besides the plastics sector maintaining its competitiveness, sustainability and resource conservation play an essential role. From her point of view, public awareness in Europe has to be raised with regard to the importance and the contribution of plastics to environmental and climate protection. Recycling and voluntary commitments of the industry are on her agenda as well. She also wants to intensify public relations.
